Montoursville — Jade Isabella Mitstifer Jade was born March 4, 2016. Some of her favorite things she enjoyed doing was riding her bike, swimming, playing Barbie’s, she loved to make slime, and adored horses! Also, her favorite saying was I love you more, I win! We used to try and beat each other to say it first! On October 8, 2020 Jade was diagnosed with a ATRT brain tumor. (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor) She had surgery and removed her tumor from her left frontal lobe and moved forward with preventative treatment plans. Her treatment plan consisted of two rounds of chemotherapy, 30 treatments of radiation and then three stem cell cycles which is three more very high intense rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, after everything was done, we believe another tumor grew back in a different spot this time she was suffering from stroke like symptoms and it was affecting her speech and movement in her right arm. Every week she kept declining and getting worse till eventually she couldn’t walk or talk anymore. Sadly, on December 9, 2021 Jade passed away but I have never seen someone so small fight extremely hard. As an adult I strive to be like her every day.
